Our EN1150-certified jacket was created with one aim: making you visible from 360° on roads, whatever the time of day. So you don’t need to worry.
We’ve designed this eco-friendly road cycling jacket to allow beginners to cycle comfortably, even in winter, while remaining visible.
Eco-Design
Using recycled polyester prevents the use of petroleum-based resources while maintaining the same features. CO2 emissions are lowered by around 10% by replacing a new component with a recycled one
Environmental labeling
At Decathlon, we have chosen to use the icon from the Ministry for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition (Ministry of the Environment) representing a score from A to E. This scoring system is already well-known by the public, since it is used for household appliances and in the automobile industry. Our goal is to promote an evaluation method that is shared by retailers in all countries. Decathlon is highly committed to this process across Europe
How are our products’ environmental scores calculated?
At Decathlon, the environmental score accounts for the product’s environmental impact across its entire lifecycle and based on various environmental criteria. This calculation is automatic and fully built into the design tools used by our design teams, which allows us to standardize our evaluation methods and build the environment into the product design process.
The EN1150 visibility standard
The effectiveness of this jacket’s visibility has been certified by an external Finnish laboratory according to the very demanding EN1150 standard. It guarantees excellent visibility during the day (thanks to the neon yellow) and at night (thanks to the very powerful reflective patches). The standard also requires 360° visibility. You’ll be visible to all road users in all conditions.
The purpose of a cycling jacket
The 3rd layer is the layer that protects you from the elements, for instance the cold and the wind, while the underneath layers offer warmth and breathability. By wearing a suitable cycling jacket, you will maintain your performance and comfort, whatever the weather.
This RC100 cycling jacket keeps you warm so you can still ride in winter.
Warmth
This is a product’s ability to protect from the cold. It depends on the material’s thermal resistance and how much air can pass through it. The higher its thermal resistance, the more the product retains the heat produced by the body while cycling.
The main fabric of this RC100 jacket is fleece lined, is almost impermeable to air, and has a thermal resistance of 0.053
